OHS Award from Euromines

TÜPRAG Metal and Mining Company was deemed worthy of an award at the Occupational Health and Safety Awards held by Euromines.

At the occupational health and safety award ceremony held in Brussels by Euromines, representing the companies operating in the metal and mineral mining field of Europe, the participation of employees in OHS activities, measures to reduce work accidents and occupational diseases, and OHS culture at TÜPRAG's gold mine in Izmir. Awarded as the most successful company in creative efforts.

The "Employee Participation Project" organized by TÜPRAG, in which managers and field workers are brought together with occupational safety-oriented activities, won the second prize. The project, which stands out in terms of creativity and impact, received full marks in these areas by the jury. Although TÜPRAG is the company that implements ISO 45001 management standards, it is shown as the safest mining company in Europe with the statistics of 'workday lost and accident-free'.

With the project, all occupational safety-oriented activities such as Risk Assessment, Pre-Shift OHS Talks / Trainings, Work Area Controls, and Duty Observations, which are carried out by managers and field workers, are carried out together, and at the same time, allow managers to spend more time in the field and thus increases the participation of employees in the field. Project-specific computer software is also developed, allowing managers to see the activities carried out in the fields in an integrated manner. The main basis of the project is aimed to increase the safety culture as a result of the prioritization of people and the occupational health and safety activities carried out with the participation of managers and employees in the field.

THE 2023-İSG/2 EXAMS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED

The 2023-İSG/2 session has concluded. Candidates were administered a test consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions in five different certification areas. The number of applicants was 42,053. However, the release date for the 2023-İSG/2 results has been specified as January 3, 2023.

Penalty for Employers Who Do Not Take OHS Training

By Article 17 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331; employers ensure that employees receive occupational health and safety training. OHS training is given before employees start work, on the job, field training, job changes, equipment-production method changes, returning to work of an employee who has an illness or an accident, or at periods that vary according to the hazard class and during the periods stipulated by the legislation.
